My Question of the Day: Would you work a job you absolutely hated if it paid you three times as much as you make now, offered excellent medical/dental/vision benefits, had free, onsite daycare and allowed you 30 days of vacation each year?

My Question of the Day: It takes all kinds of people to make up our society. Imagine that you’re an employer who has to decide which of these kinds of people to hire for your company. You’ve interviewed two applicants, and now you must choose between them. Would you rather hire the person who is very good at the job but whose attitude isn’t that great, or would you rather hire the person who isn’t that great at the job but has a very good disposition?

My 2 Cents: I’ll have to agree with the majority on this one. If you’ve got a bad attitude, I don’t care how good you are at the job, you’re not going to be a part of my company. People are definitely trainable when they have a very good disposition. If the other person were willing to work hard and do better, I’d give him/her a chance to improve.
We don’t have to be best buddies in order for you to work for me, but you can’t ruin the atmosphere with your sour disposition and expect that everyone else will just adjust because you’re good at the job. That won’t be happening at my company, no way.
