My Question of the Day for 16 December 2011

Empty Pill BottlesMy Question of the Day: Anita’s grandfather, whom she loves dearly and deeply, has an incurable and extremely painful illness that has kept him bedridden for the past several months. No medical treatments can ease the pain and suffering and his final days are dragging on and on with no conclusive end in sight. Anita’s grandfather gives her an envelope and asks her not to read it for three days. He asks her to go to his medicine cabinet and bring back the two bottles of sleeping pills that are on the top shelf, and then he asks her to cut her visit short and not to return until the same time tomorrow and not a minute sooner. My Question of the Day for 09 March 2010 – UPDATED

-

My Question of the Day: For several years, you’ve been preparing for, what will be for YOU, a once-in-your-lifetime competition. At this moment in time, this is your only shot at fulfilling your life-long dream, and you’re ready, primed and heavily favored to come out the victor. A few days before the big event, someone near and dear to your heart dies unexpectedly. What do you do?

My 2 Cents: If it’s anyone other than my mother, I think I can suck it up and compete. If they’re already gone, I can pay my respects when I’m done. Not competing won’t bring him/her back.

If it’s my mommy, I don’t know if I will be able to take another breath after hearing the news. I know we all have to go, and usually parents go before their children, but I don’t know how I’ll handle not having my mom around. I can’t even imagine life without her. Call me a wimp, but it’s the truth.
