My Question of the Day: Knowing that you could definitely afford it, would you send your child(ren) to another country where the educational system is better than the educational system in your country?

LikeDislikeOnce they graduate high school, they can do whatever they want. I wouldn’t send them off unless it’s something they wanted to do. If I have the money to send them there for school, I must assume I also have the money to visit whenever I feel like it or fly them home or just move altogether.

LikeDislike@faydra_deon both my kids attended catholic schools to prepare them for college and self educate them on life lessons. Both are in college.

LikeDislikeIt depends on the age of the child. Younger than high school, then no. But high school and college age, sure. Provided the child wanted to do it too, it can be great. My sisters went to boarding schools in London and Port Harcourt respectively. They enjoyed it. I chose not to simply because I wanted to play football in high school. I regret that choice.

LikeDislikeNo, I wouldn’t. I’m not big on the idea of even local boarding schools. I think children belong with their parents. I know not everyone agrees with that, but I want my kids with me daily so I can raise them myself and share in their lives.

LikeDislikeUm…no. Not unless we were ALL moving. I’m not sending my child over to another country by herself just so she could *possibly* learn more. Separation anxiety and all that. But, no. I just couldn’t do it.

LikeDislikeI would not send my children to a different country. I would miss them(I’m sure).
But I have thought about this & probably will do private school.
