My Question of the Day: Our sense of community has changed over the generations. With that in mind, do you know and/or spend time your neighbors, the people who live around you?

My 2 Cents: I’m friendly with my neighbors, but I can’t say I really know and/or interact with them.

I’ve lived in my current neighborhood for seven years, and it’s the people who moved in not too long ago that I have a relationship with. They were there to help me when we got snowed in and I was horribly ill. They brought me fruit, juice and medicine and even cleaned my walkway. That was nice.

Listen to the question here: No audio today.

My Question of the Day: Do you believe the economy is improving?

My 2 Cents: Hm. I can’t really tell one way or the other. My lifestyle hasn’t changed much since before the recession, and it’s the same now.

My Question of the Day for 28 July 2010 – UPDATED

My Question of the Day: Jordan is trying to potty train his two-year-old son, Jordan Jr., of whom he has primary custody. Jordan’s ex-wife, Lydia, gets Jordan Jr. every other week, and she is also helping with the potty-training duties. The problem is that Jordan and Lydia have different ideas about what to do when Jordan Jr. has an accident on himself. Lydia believes spanking Jordan Jr. will stop him from wetting himself, but Jordan is adamantly opposed to spanking Jordan Jr. for any reason, especially not for wetting himself.

Who do you think is right?

My 2 Cents: I think spanking a potty-training child for wetting him/herself would be just as, if not more, traumatic as having the accident itself.

Although I’m not a parent, I can’t see how physical pain would keep a two-year-old from wetting him/herself.

I’m going to have to agree with Jordan on this one.
