My Question of the Day for 10 March 2010 – UPDATED
My Question of the Day: Which emotion do you think is stronger: love or hate?
My 2 Cents Love is stronger than hate. The movements of Ghandi and Martin Luther King, Jr. showed and Marvin Gaye sanged that love will conquer hate. Even in failed relationships, where we hate what someone has done to us, and we even say we hate him/her, in many cases there is still love under the surface.
I would go further to say that I disagree that love and hate are equal in strength as emotions. What I would say is that the obsession with love or the obsession with hate can be stronger than either emotion by itself.

acmeek Love because it’s harder to do consistently but once you get it, the results are more effective.
blacknthick I choose hate
Teaguem2005 Love is stronger than hate 4 me. I don’t hate anybody but I love many.
OfeliaNJ LOVE. If you think about it, stalking & addictions = twisted-up love. People don’t go to such extremes for hate
JoshDamage I would say love. Who has the energy too hate all the time
PROTECTED TWEETER I’d say they R about the same. Though hate often over shadows love because its easier 2 exude & convey.

LikeDislikeOne of my favorite sayings is “Only love can conquer hate”. It sounds cliche but it is true. Hate requires a lot more energy. People that hate you try to do anything to stop you from enjoy life. But the only thing that can stop these people is love. They really can't fight against love.

LikeDislikeBoth are equal: love because it elevates the vibration of both the lover and beloved; hate because we see it proliferated everywhere in our society via the idiot box (TV) and other established communication channels (we see shows such as 'Touched By An Angel' as hoky). BTW, why is Sunday morning the most segregated hour in America?

LikeDislikeHate takes so much energy. Hate = negativity. It has a great impact on the mind. Love=Positivity =Happiness; therefore, Hate is a much stronger emotion than Love.

LikeDislikeI think love is the stronger of the two feelings. Although hate can make you do strange & sometimes ugly things. Love can help you endure anything. Love alters your mind, body, and soul. It can bring the best of out of you. It can also show you how strong you never knew you were. Also hate often comes from a situation where there was love. A betrayal, lie, things along those lines often generate some hate.

LikeDislikeI think this is two sides of the same coin. Neither is more powerful. Hate is simply the opposite of Love in that we hate those thing that go against what we love, but it all boils down to the same passionate emotion. The difference is just in expression.

LikeDislikeI am going to say hate because people, as we see on the news everyday, really take it to unfortunate and violent levels. I wish love was the guiding light though
