My Question of the Day for 02 March 2010 – UPDATED
My Question of the Day: As it stands right now, your life isn’t so bad. You’re not necessarily doing what you’d like to do, but you’re doing pretty well with what you’re doing. Then, BAM!!! You have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to drop everything and take a CHANCE on your dream life/lifestyle. The catch is that win or lose, make it or fail, you CANNOT return to your current life/lifestyle. What do you do?
My 2 Cents: Simply put, I pray on it and move if/when God says move. If He’s for me, nothing and no one can prevail against me (Rom 8:31).
If God is my source, and I believe He is, and He is the one who gives me the ability to create wealth (Deut 8:18), then I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me (Phil 4:13).
I’m not asking you to believe that. I’m just letting you know that’s what I believe.

chela816 Go for it! Pursuing your dreams is much more important than mere comfort/complacency.
Mo_Rease I’d stick with my current situation until something better comes along.
JoshDamage I’m not a gambling man, I stick with the sure thing.

If its your dream you will find a way to make it work. Change can be good or bad, depending on if the person who is experiencing change fears it or welcomes it.

LikeDislikeIf this is something I've dreamed of doing and want so desperately I doubt I'd fail. Also, life isn't that exciting right now anyway and I find myself dreaming away so i would welcome a dream opportunity even with the risk you mentioned above!

LikeDislikeI agree with Melody.
You only FAIL when you fail to try.
Someone once said, “We sometimes stand around waiting for opportunity to knock, and when it does we say, 'Go away, I'm waiting for opportunity.'”
I would take the plunge into the unknown.

LikeDislikeI would need one (really 2) question answered before I make a truly informed decision…when you say I can't return to my current lifestyle, does this mean I'll be homeless if I don't make it? Or that I won't have my current job and salary?
Despite those questions I'll give my answer. YES! I couldn't help it. I tend to be a trial and error kind of guy and it would eat me up inside if i didn't give it a try. I don't want to proceed through the rest of my life wondering what the outcome COULD have been. That would be tortuous.

LikeDislikeThats a GREAT Question! i wouldn't do it. If I have a solid career, and all is going well, why Rock the Boat?

LikeDislikeI’d go for it! I can’t think of anything in my current life that I’d feel bad about losing…absolutely NOTHING!

LikeDislikeI wholeheartedly agree with Rahsheen, of course you go for it! If its your dream, then you have a passion and desire for it. That desire was not put there on accident or by mistake. While someone else may be ABLE to do what you do, NO ONE in the world can do it LIKE you do. And no one is better at being you than you. GO DO YOU! Life is too short. God gave us life to LIVE. God is a verb.

LikeDislikeOh, I'm definitely going to give it a shot. I'd rather try really hard to do something I always thought I wanted to do than to be too afraid to try. If I can't return to my previously lifestyle, it would be immediately it wouldn't mean I couldn't work my way back up to it…and I'll have a helluva story to tell folks. Fear paralyzes you.

LikeDislikeFirst you delete the word “fail” from your vocabulary… We only get one round in this life.. don't ever have to look yourself in the mirror and say, “if only I had…” Nothing ventured is ever gained…. and nothing worth having is ever easy… So, make a decision, never look back… and, like my Daddy used to always say to me, “Never let the dirty bastards grind you down!”

LikeDislikeGo for it. Alway. If not, why am I here? Of course, I probably have a different outlook than most.

LikeDislikeWow this is indeed a good twitter question, Daily question, or question for life. There was so much excitement and momentum built in the way you phrase it, that I want to be adventurous and go with the unknown. I want to risk it all just for the hope of true happiness to live the life I've always desired.
However, had this been a regular life where the possibilities wasn't put just so, I would have said depends on my life/energy expectancy. If I felt my window of opportunity to successfully carry out whatever goal was closing, I would immediately risk it all. However, if I felt there was more time and I was already comfortable – I would play the safe route.
