The Question: You have 15 minutes to call YOURSELF at age 15 and say ANYTHING. What would you say?
My 2 Cents: If I had 15 minutes to call myself at the age of 15 and say anything, it would be the following:
“Faydra, I know this is going to sound really, really crazy, but I want you to listen and don’t speak.
I’m calling you from 26 years in your future. Just to prove it’s you, I’m going to tell you the two things that no one else knows about you but you…
Now that you know it’s actually your future self, there are four, major things that are going to come up in your life that will seem like fun and/or exciting opportunities, but they will not be in your best interest. Think very, very hard before you do any of the following: (1) have sex before you’re married; (2) use the major credit card your parents gave you for emergencies to qualify and get over fifteen store-specific credit cards; (3) use student loans to finance your lifestyle because you don’t need them to pay for your education; and (4) marry the fifth man who asks you for your hand.
None of these things will get you where you want to go in your life. When you see them, recognize them and then make different choices.”
