My Question of the Day for 15 December 2009 – RESULTS
The Question: Should women be allowed to fight on the front lines alongside men in combat?
My 2 Cents: I DO NOT believe women should be allowed to fight on the front lines alongside men in combat.
History has shown that women can be more fierce warriors than men when their homes or families are threatened, so it’s not that I don’t believe women CAN’T fight on the front lines alongside men in combat. Women SHOULDN’T fight on the front lines alongside men in combat.
Short and sweet, women are not little men. I’m going to leave it at that, and allow you to ponder (or not) on what that statement means: women are not little men.

Sonny_Rich nah its real over there I know 1st hand! But hey that’s just my opinion!
iJustJason of course! They signed up for the same thing. Same training. Same mission. Same destiny
MuataAdebamgbe no!
DerekIsNormal Absolutely. Women are just as strong as men (if not stronger).
jigsawverbiage If they want to, then women should be able to but frankly, I LIKE men’s roles and women’s roles. I have nothing to prove.
MusingMom If a woman wants to then why not?
Hadji4ever Of course!
PROTECTED TWEETER Current training indicated that women can fight just as much as men & are in some places. So sure why not? & PAY
shoopeeshoop wow that one is a hard one for me to add my two cents to..
coffeesassy Yes if they are qualified mentally and physically.
sunshine625 Heck yeah!!
shiraabel no. but women should be allowed to fight next to women in combat if they want to fight
ATMMD something aint right if women are in the front line of combat. What happened to all the men?
Quintessence_T yes they should…if they feel they are physically able to do it..then by all means–but it should be a choice
aprilgregory I say no
weblady1 We do it in the workplace, why not the battlefield?
tclarkusa I hv no prob w/ women on front lines fighting alongside men in combat. Is there a safe place during a war? It is war.
rishaholmes Yes, women who enlist are equal to their male counterparts, so combat..yes.
atane I have no problem with women in the frontlines, provided they are as capable as their male counterparts in all areas of combat.
BLKMGK Yes
PROTECTED TWEETER Hmmm Good one. I guess if they meet certain physical requirements their gender shouldn’t matter. So yes. Allow them in.
crcomrie man or woman who in their right mind wants to be on the front line?
zard to clarify: Angry women are far scarier then angry men. possibly better at following orders, too.
womprat99 Are women any less American than men? I have long believed that they should be allowed to.
zard No, it’s unfair to the men on the other side! :p
ObiOrion By all means, yes.
PROTECTED TWEETER I know a solider is a solider and women fought for equality…but bottom line we are NOT equal. I say NO
TracyReneeJones Y the [bleep] not?
md20737 NOPE
walkerdl In Iraq & Afghanistan, the “front line” constantly has been blurred, so women have been in combat before
walkerdl Yes
NightShade10 I think they should – most are losing their lives anyway even in non direct combat situations – women are natural soldiers
JoshJoker83 no they should not because of the depravity of the enemy we face. don’t want them getting raped, heads cut off etc.
roaddoggz My daughter leaves for 2nd tour in Iraq this evening. I’m glad she’s not on the front line fighting but she’s still in danger
