My Question of the Day for 07 December 2009 – RESULTS
The Question: Who’s better at parenting: males or females?
My 2 Cents: Neither males or females are better at parenting. Traditionally, it has been said that women are better at raising children. That’s not necessarily true, because I have friends whose fathers were forced into the role of single parents. These men loved and raised their children just as well, if not better, than some mothers. Yes, women are by nature nurturers, but there are men who are nurturers, as well.
Just as fathering a child doesn’t make you a daddy, neither does giving birth make you a mommy. There is much love and sacrifice involved with both roles. The better parent is the one who understands that the child(ren) come first in all situations and circumstances, and that’s made all the better when both the male and female parent agree and act on this.

PROTECTED TWEETER I want to say Mothers but I think Mothers are more likely to commit filicide then Fathers…
MusingMom My mom…she was on point 100 % of the time
agonyofvictory Females are better without doubt.
PROTECTED TWEETER Women = intuition…very imp. quality…but a male could be equally as good a parent…I just think intuition of a female has a more profound effect on parenting
TankaBar_JasonD You can’t judge them like they can’t pick out a favorite kid. They both play a part in raising agoodchild.Iseen goodmom anddads
rodman5 males
PROTECTED TWEETER Each parent brings different things to a child…whoever is the primary caregiver.
ImABlackPoem there’s no proof tht either is better than the other
Jade_Spice_97 females
fucalladat females because they’re more nurturing
rahsheen I don’t think gender/sex has anything to do with parenting skills. It’s more about a person’s character.
tenishae26 females: patience &natural ability to multitask, love & mold
Tony_Styxx neither is “better”
rishaholmes Both Can be, depends on person , not gender
VonPhotography Depends on who has a greater sense of responsibility. Being a parent is inherent to some and learned by others.
Rhonnybay neither is “better”
PROTECTED TWEETER i say females because of the stereo type but i…feel that if the father is putting as much effort as a mom, he may be just as good, if not better as a parent.
mayqueen79 Depends on the person, Mothers get custody in the court due to a comment by Freud, but he meant parents because both are good.
md20737 Neither is better than the other..
walkerdl Females. They’re usually around more
yayayarndiva it’s not gender that makes a good parent- it is the love, consistency and commitment that makes a difference
KCPL Women tend to raise “soft” men. But men tend to raise “hard” women. It’s truly a toss-up. I’d prefer co-parenting for balance.
AlWoods Men!
Newilli Men & Women parent differently, so better is apples-to-oranges … each bring sum gender-based strengths 2 the equation…that bein said, Women r historically more “family” oriented, but that may b more cultural/environmental more then inherent
BLKMGK In general, females are better parents We have more patience and sensitivity. But I have seen some super fathers out there too.
Write_Of_Fusion Females…hands down!
CedricMcCay men/fathers teach the deeper, significant life lessons that last and carry you. women teach you how to live (eat, wash, play)!
tclarkusa Neither. Male/female, doesn’t matter. The ability to PARENT matters and let’s face it not every1 possesses that ability.
atane There is no better gender when it comes to parenting. They both bring equally important roles. Ideally, they should be united
treschic67 Females. We’ll do anything 2 take care of & provide for our children .I’m a Daddys Girl, but there’s nothing like a Mothers lov
Quintessence_T there is no better parent.they’re both needed 2 raise a child. a man cant teach a girl how 2 be a woman& same with women & boys
sunshine625 Both most of the time.
DiamondEmory Females are better at parenting in general. It’s how God designed us. Not EVERY mother is a good parent but generally speaking
