My Question of the Day for 04 November 2009
My Question of the Day: Is a pre-owned vehicle, purchased from a reputable car dealership known for the highest maintenance standards, just as good as buying a brand, new vehicle?

I learned the hard way it’s always “Buyer be ware” whether new or used. Case and point: bought a new vehicle in 05, had a horrible problem with it. Kept bringing it into the shop, it never duplicated the issue for the mechanic after numerous times. It wasn’t covered under the “Lemon Law” because it wasn’t the same exact problem each time. It wasn’t covered under the “New Car” warranty because they had no other complaints similiar or the same as mine. I then bought a used vehicle, took it to my mechanic he told me what was wrong with it. I offered the seller a price less the repairs it needed and gave them the copy of the estimate with the repair mans name and number to verify. I bought the car, fixed it, and it’s ran dependably for 3 years! Moral of the story: There are no real guarantees in any purchase but you can buy a used vehicle with confidence when you do a CAR-FAX check, and a check with your mechanic. With a new vehicle, unless your problem can be duplicated when you bring it in or others have had the same issue you are not covered. Glad I own and drive a 12 year old car that runs and looks like new!
