The Question: For what are you thankful?
My 2 Cents: I’m going to have to echo @ArunBasilLal…
I am most thankful for EVERYTHING! That includes the good and the not so good.
Although I have much respect for what/how other people believe or don’t believe, most of you know that I’m a follower of Christ, so the Holy Bible (God’s Word) is the guide for my life. The foundational scripture on which I stand daily comes from Romans 8:28:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (KJV)
I think of Joseph when I think of that scripture.
Joseph’s brother’s, who were jealous of his favor with their father and his visions that he would one day rule over them, threw Joseph into a pit and then pulled him out only to sell him into slavery. Although Joseph went through some rough times as a slave–being falsely accused of raping his master’s (Potiphar) wife and being thrown into jail and forgotten–his status was elevated years later when he was the only one able to interpret the dreams of the Pharaoh. He was raised to be the second most important leader to an entire nation, the Pharaoh being the first.
When Joseph was reunited with his brothers, who were afraid that Joseph would seek revenge against them, Joseph told them, “What you meant for my harm, God meant for my good.” Despite all he went through, Joseph understood that his life was always in the Creator’s hands and divine plan. That is why I’m most thankful for EVERYTHING.
