My Question of the Day for 20 October 2009

-

My Question of the Day: You’re invited to the wedding of a friend/relative. You’re not particularly close to this friend/relative, but you’re close enough to seriously consider going to the wedding. You’ve received the invitation in plenty of time to get a decent rate on a plane ticket and a hotel room. You can take a few days off from work, with pay, without it being a major or minor hassle. A few days before you decide to finalize the arrangements to go, you find out from another friend/relative that the couple are actually already married and have been for several months. The couple is only having this ceremony so they can please their mothers and to give everyone invited the opportunity to get them gifts and attend the reception. What do you do?

My Question of the Day for 19 October 2009 – RESULTS

-

The Question: You must evacuate your home NOW! You have no idea where you’re headed, but you know you must leave immediately, and you know you’re never going to get to come back to where you live now. You’re told you can take three things only. What do you take?

My 2 Cents: The following are the three things I’d take if I were being evacuated from my home never to return:

1) 500GB USB-powered external hard drive with all my pictures, important documents and files wrapped in a towel and secured inside a large Ziploc® bag that’s inside another large Ziploc® bag.

2) multi-use, utility knife (you know, the one with a spoon, fork, scissors, screwdriver, etc.).

and

3) my biggest purse to carry the first two items, plus my cell phone and it’s charger, lots of pantiliners (TMI, I know; get over it), protein bars, debit cards, checks, paper, pencils, pens, an  extra pair of socks, an unbreakable cup, tube of toothpaste and anything else that would fit and not wrench my shoulder out of place.

OK, I’m like @atane, but at least I’d TRY to look like I was complying. Haha.

Please note that I will be picking winners for the months in 2011 that have not been done yet. I've gotten behind, but I'm a woman of my word. Beginning, 01 January 2012, there will only be one winner per month, and that one winner will receive a $30 Amazon gift card. For the months in 2011 that still need winners, there will still be two, $20 gift card winners. The change will take effect starting 01 January 2012. See details.
