The Question: 4TH FRIDAY SHAMELESS PLUGS! What product(s)/service(s) do you offer? How do we find you on the web?

My 2 Cents: Let’s see. It’s almost easier to tell you what I DON’T do. I’ve got so many “irons in the fire” that I’ll limit it to just the things I’m offering/doing right now:

Computer Applications Trainer for EEI and my own company, Higher Dimensions Computer Training Solutions.

I’ll be posting dates for a series of web design/development courses. The entire series will help you learn/enhance your web design/development skills from the basic level all the way to the advanced level.

The series will include the following courses:

  • (X)HTML & CSS, Levels 1, 2 and 3
  • Dreamweaver, Levels 1 and 2
  • Creating Advanced CSS in Dreamweaver
  • Photoshop for Web Design
  • Dreamweaver and Photoshop Integration
  • Search Engine Optimization 2.0 (with the Social Media twist)
  • Beginning PHP/MySQL (the languages of WordPress and Joomla!)
  • Installing and Configuring WordPress on Your Domain
  • Customizing WordPress Themes, An Introduction
  • Creating WordPress Themes, An Introduction
  • Installing and Configuring Joomla!
  • Customizing Joomla! Themes, An Introduction
  • Creating Joomla! Themes, An Introduction

Classes don’t have to be taken in order, and you don’t have to take all the classes. They’re being offered in a series for those who need to start at the basic level and then work their way to the more advanced levels.

Web Design/Development/Enhancement: Hyper-linx.com. I have reasonable, flexible rates, depending on your budget, and my services include setting up and customizing WordPress blogs and themes, along with setting up and customizing Joomla! content management systems. Site enhancement is the focus of this venture, but I can build your site from the ground up, if necessary. I’d be glad to share my portfolio with you.

Content Editing: Just Write Right. Spelling, grammar and punctuation all matter! If you need help massaging and finessing your writing, I can help.

And, my blogs: Spin A Tale and Just the Messenger. I’m going to be spending more time on both of these in the near future.

The Question: You decide to marry your life’s love. S/he then tells you s/he has HUGE unpaid medical bills. What do you do?

My 2 Cents: If the person is truly your life’s love, there has to be a way to work through whatever obstacles may possibly pop up to keep the two of you apart.

It may not be easy, but it’s simple. That’s something I started saying about four or five years ago. It seems to apply in so many situations and circumstances.

If the Bible is a guide for your life, and I acknowledge and respect the fact that it isn’t everyone’s life guide, keep in mind what 1st Corinthians 13:4-7 in the New International Version of the Bible says about love:

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

I, however, prefer the King James Version of 1st Corinthians 13:4-7:

4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

If we see love and charity as interchangeable is there any man-made thing that should and/or can come between authentic feelings of fondness and affection between two people?

Russelldrgoss that sounds like a man down situation I’d tell ‘em 2 pray lol j/k

Gloria AntonNightShade10 discuss how “we” can get this handled – if you’ve decided to take a vow “through good times n bad” might as well start now! LoL

Delores Williamsdelwilliams PRENUP!!!!

Monica Dennisjigsawverbiage Not married yet right? So make a plan to help pay bills THEN marry – if the plan is a success. Otherwise, it may be telling.

XPhile1908XPhile1908 count up the cost, see if we have a stable financial footing on which to start a life together, and proceed accordingly.

BeverlyMahone babyboomerbev Girl, my hubby checked my credit report so HE KNEW! :) married me anyway and we paid them off

Josephine SevenJosephine_Seven you should have known that BEFORE you decided to marry or you don’t know him/her well enough to ask them to marry.

Darryl MimsWrite_Of_Fusion You work things out together, even though it was unexpected. Never let $ come between the love you have for each other.

Whitney Jameswhit2 I would just start helping to pay them off, but I would worry that he was keeping other stuff from me too.

Pettra Tyus-MappPettra88 You runnnnnnnnn!!!

tony dansoankomaguy i will go ahead with the marriage and help pay it off.

TheTBoneQuintessence_T tell his ass he betta set aside a few dollas each paycheck to pay it–i’d contribute 10% of his monthly pyments 2wards the bill

PROTECTED TWEETER this should not be new info. you 2 should already have discussed stuff like that. If its new info y r u marrying them?

Rahsheen Porterrahsheen I wouldn’t do anything. Debt doesn’t scare me. To complain would be hypocritical. I’d wanna know why she kept it a secret, tho

PROTECTED TWEETER get married

jareasonThe_Jerri_Ann for real? does it matter? honestly, if so, no one would have ever married me, I have major health issues, always med bills

Stephanie Hargroveshargrove egads it’s not so much the bills as it is the non-disclosure, sit down & have the real conversation about trust & honesty

Arnetta Meekinsacmeek Discuss a plan to pay the bill. Address the issue of whether not mentioning it b4 is deceit or 4getfulness.

Jeff Renekerjreneker Ouch. For richer or for poorer starts off earlier that expected. But, if he or she is the love of your life, don’t bail.

RasheedahIamRah Tell them to handle it…

Melissa Wademissywadestone Ensure a plan in place to pay that bill off as soon as possible. Don’t not get married because of it. Stick to the plan.

T.C.Golden_Lady check credit way b4! RT My Question of the Day: You to marry your love. S/he then tells you s/he has HUGE unpaid medical bills.

Atane Ofiajaatane Before I marry someone, we would have talked about debt and our financial situations/obligations.

Steven L. Coard Lcoard3422000 You get the side chick/dude to pay the bill..Then you ask your life’s love to repay by having a threesome..

Vincent WrightVincentWright 1. Marry them 2. Create a support team to help: A.) Cut unnecessary expenditures B.) Increase income C.) Improve health

Bill Prickett, APRbprickett Take two aspirins…and call the lawyer. LOL

Corrine JohnsonLadyJay91 I would still marry him but would strongly suggest he work on paying them down by getting a pt job, or strong budget trimming.

The Question: If someone slights you, even if it’s unintentional, and then says “It’s not personal,” how does that make you feel?

My 2 Cents: A slight, even an unintentional one, more often than not will be perceived as personal, no matter what the person initiating the slight says. It is important that the person who delivers the slight acknowledges the slight and how it makes the other person/people feel, regardless of the intention.

Look at it this way: You shoot me and kill me. Yes, I know this is an extreme example, but humor me. You shoot me and kill me. Does the fact that you did it by accident make me any less dead? The result is the same whether it’s accidental or intentional.

I read this somewhere several years ago, and (of course) I’m paraphrasing: People may forget what you say. People may forget what you do. People never forget how you made/make them feel.

Perception often holds more power than actual reality. Consider kindness when interacting with others.

Quinn McDonaldQuinnCreative Like it’s personal

RasheedahIamRah it depends on what they did. It IS personal if they did it 2 me tho. Hwvr I wouldn’t harp on it unless it is smth very serious.

Ethel M Gibbsethelmgibbs Is B.. slappin..okay? Just kidding. How do I feel? Good! Y? Because I know they’re projecting how they feel about themselves.

Vicxiamvictorious I will be apphrensive of their intentions from that point on.

PROTECTED TWEETER think they that had given it a lot of thought and probably knew I would get upset or offended. So why say it at all?

PROTECTED TWEETER Even if they say that I still take it personal because they intentionally said, “Don’t take it personal” which makes me..contd

Akazia Nanaakaziaj Like saying, “don’t piss on my shoes and tell me it’s raining”.

Nathan Taylornate4171 Dont take it personal, if u start getting in your feelings bout what others say & do, it’ll easily ruin an otherwise good day..

Gloria AntonNightShade10 that they r marginalizing my feelings/disingenuous- it’s “me” who’s slighted, therefore it’s personal! Our culture lacks empathy

Ali DabbaghATMMD That is not an apology, so it does not help. Any slight is personal.

PROTECTED TWEETER Depends on the phase of my mood. LOL! If I’m up: No problem. If I’m down: I cry like a baby or I blog the slight & cmts

PROTECTED TWEETER [bleep] bc personal or not it was an insult if they say that

Jason StoverTankaBar_JasonD your going feel bad about it intentional or not

R. A. MillsAbayKamau A slight? Based on the definition I use a slight is intentional, therefore it can only be seen as a personal offense.

Mimi Wigginsmimiwiggins comin frm loved 1 *it’s not personal* means th exact oppste. if it’s an acqutnce, will bother me but will try to let roll off

VickyBLKMGK If its intentional, my feelings are hurt. If its truly unintentional I let it go.

Jazzzy (3Z's)jazzzyone “It’s not personal”, it’s fraternal twin “Nothing personal” & cousins “No shots” & “No offense”…sure feels personal to me!

Jazzo ReneeJazzoRenee Like saying its not personl gets them outta not doing right

Jason Luntzjluntzreport like a sucka!

PROTECTED TWEETER as if they said,”shut up and get over it”, “whatever” or both

PROTECTED TWEETER I would feel hurt at first but then after a little thought I would feel like maybe they are battling with something internal!

Daniel Walkerwalkerdl It depends on the person. If the person is genuine, I shrug it off

Tomi Clarktclarkusa Just saying “It’s not personal” makes me feel like it’s personal.

Andre Hadji JonesHadji4ever I wouldn’t take it personal or have hard feelings w/ the person.

Andre Hadji JonesHadji4ever It would make me feel like I should’ve been on my A-Game and forseen what could possibly have happened.

Corrine JohnsonLadyJay91 If its someone that close 2 me it would hurt of course because they should no better. But if its someone that doesnt matter no.

Patent AttorneyEvansIPLaw It’s personal

Josephine SevenJosephine_Seven people are morons in general. I long ago stopped letting their idiocy bother me. Who cares if it is personal or not? *shrugs*
